8th Grade Queen Bee Award
In 2024 our league established the Queen Bee Award to recognize our exceptional young women who are part of our program and to inspire the younger players to follow in their footsteps.
Criteria: Must be a member of Media Softball for at least 3 years and is currently in 8th grade.
Award Description: A true Media Swarm "Queen Bee" is a player who is dedicated to the league beyond her playing time on the field, by participating in league volunteer opportunities and making the community a better place. She routinely shows good sportsmanship to her teammates and opposing players and is a leader on and off the field. She consistently has supported the league over the years by going the extra mile in her dedication to making the league a better place for all. A player who takes academics seriously and is a steward of her community by giving back to the world around her. Someone who makes everyone around them better by lifting them up, leading by example and supporting them. She is very passionate about Media Softball and represents all the important values of the league.
Winner receives $250 to use for a community service project to make the local community better.
Interested players should submit a thoughtful essay saying why they deserve this award and what they will do with the award money. They should write about how they have made Media Softball a better community and tell us about themselves. They must state name, years played at Media Softball and what high school they plan to attend.
