Spring Registration Now Open for 6U–12U!

Spring Registration is officially open for all divisions from 6U through 12U! At Media Area Girls Softball (MAGS), our most important mission is to develop confident young athletes, ensure they have fun, and help them build lasting friendships.

This season, we will offer 6U (FUN‑damentals), 8U, 10U, and 12U recreational leagues, all participating in the Baltimore Pike League alongside Clifton Heights, Springfield, and Swarthmore. We are excited for a fun, rewarding, and growth‑filled season for every player.

Limited Roster Spots

Due to overwhelming interest in Media Girls Softball, each division has a maximum roster cap. We strongly encourage families to register early—once a division fills, additional players will be placed on a waitlist.

Season Timeline

The Spring season will run from mid‑March through the end of May. Divisions 12U, 10U, and 8U will conclude the season with playoffs.

For 8U, playoff seeding will be randomized to reinforce our focus on fundamentals, equal playing time, and rotating positions—because at this age, development and fun matter far more than standings.

Player Evaluations & Draft (Late February)

Player evaluations and the team draft will take place in late February. Evaluations are held only for 10U and 12U, and are used to ensure each team has a balanced number of pitchers and catchers. This helps us create competitive, well‑rounded teams while supporting player development across the league.

Age Eligibility Updates for 2026

If you did not participate in Fall Ball—or may not recall those communications—please note that national age cutoffs have changed again for the 2026 season (USA Softball, USSSA, Babe Ruth, etc.). This means your child’s league eligibility may differ from last spring.

Because of these updated national rules, we are now required to verify each player’s date of birth using a birth certificate. We will schedule several designated verification days where families can bring a birth certificate to confirm age and ensure full compliance with the new eligibility standards.
